ATPL (A) Theory

The teaching of 650 hours of theory takes place under the guidance of experienced instructors in the form of self-study, consultations and progress tests. The course prepares students to pass the ATPL theory exams at the Czech Civil Aviation Authority (or another authority within the EASA states). Consultations take place face-to-face or online with professional instructors in Czech or English language.
The course begins with an initial meeting that lasts approximately 2 hours. You will receive an information about the course content, the schedule of the course and consultations and the certificate issuing system. You will also get an access to the Aviationexam question database and eTextbooks. You will also receive basic information about CAA exams.
The initial meeting can take place both remotely (online) and face-to-face in a classroom at CATC.

Prerequisites

  • PPL licence
  • Ability to communicate in English at level B2 (ICAO Level 4)

Duration

650 hours (approx. 8-9 months). For CPL, IR holders, experience gained can be credited.

Course duration:

Are you working, studying or otherwise busy? We have a solutiuon for you. The course is in the form of self-study followed by consultations in the form of face-to-face or online consultations.
Out of a total of 650 hours, 154 hours are consultations with CATC instructors. So you complete an average of 16-20 hours of consultation per month. We try to schedule consultations at CATC mainly over the weekend or in the afternoon so as to allow students with time constraints to study.
Already during the course, CATC will issue a partial certificate of successful completion of completed subjects upon your request. You can start taking exams at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA/ÚCL) already during the course.

62 750 CZK / 2 562 EUR

The price of the course includes:

  • up to 300 hours (in max course duration of 18 months) of consultations with CATC instructors
  • access to the aviationexam question database for 18 months
  • access to textbooks (in the eTextbooks app – both IOS and Android supported) for 12 months
  • issue of partial and final certificates
  • the use of CATC training devices in teaching (FTD A320, etc.)
  • excursion at Prague airport
  • the possibility of borrowing paper books

 

The price does not include:

  • The Training fee is VAT and other taxes exclusive. VAT shall be applied in accordance with the Act. No. 235/2004 Coll., on Value Added Tax, as amended (ie. local VAT law).
  • Examination fees at CAA.
