Practical experience with execution of engine run up on turbo-prop. aircraft (not mandatory)


Theoretical knowledge corresponding to B1 category as defined in Part-66
Type certification category B1

Course overview


17 hrs.

Theoretical part: 14 hrs.
Aircraft or simulator: 2 hrs.
Examination and debriefing: 1 hr.

Course content

  • Engine ground safety precautions and danger areas
  • Engine limitations
  • EEC messages procedures
  • System tests and checks
  • Emergency procedures, static tests, aircraft preparation, motoring, engine start, failure following procedures *

*Note: cancelled for the trainees with the ATR72-100/200 or ATR42-200/300 series Engine Run-up certificate

Course objective

  • To acquire necessary knowledge and skills to carry out engine run up on aircraft
