group facilitation skills
adequate knowledge of the operation and the aircraft type, preferably through current CAT experience as a flight crew member
flight crew member
successfully passed human performance and limitations (HPL) examination whilst recently obtaining the airline transport pilot licence (ATPL) in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1178/20119, or followed a theoretical HPL course covering the whole syllabus of the HPL examination
completed initial CRM training

Course content

the whole course is divided into 3 days

  • Day 1:
    • Training objectives, Organizational requirements
    • CRM Training implementation in an airline company
    • Familiarisation with elements of CRM:
      • Human error and reliability, chain of errors, error prevention and detection
      • Operator safety culture, standard operating procedures (SOPs), organizational factors
      • Stress, stress management, fatigue & vigilance
      • Information acquisition and processing, situation awareness, workload management
      • Decision making, Communication and coordination inside and outside the flight crew compartment
      • Leadership and team behaviour, synergy,  automation, philosophy of the use of automation
    • Case studies
    • Preparation for the exercise on Day 3
  • Day 2:
    • Non-technical skills familiarization:
      • CRM training program development, lesson plans
      • Teaching process
      • Training philosophies
      • Techniques of Applied Instruction
      • The use of instructional aids
      • The use of instructional techniques, setting a questions methods
      • Preparation for the exercise for Day 3
    • Day 3:
      • Practical sessions
      • Participants will have an opportunity to conduct CRM lessons under supervision of a qualified CRM Instructor
      • Feedback will be provided on CRM instructional skills
      • Course evaluation
